BBD is a brandnew Bucket Brigade Delay Eurorack module from Erica Synths. It is released in their cooperation line with well known builder Moritz Klein. The module will have its DIY premiere in our nice event in Leipzig. An interesting problem back in the day was: how do you create a delayed duplicate of a sound without recording it to some sort of storage medium? Back then, before digital signal processing and cheap, abundant memory, this was a real engineering issue. Until two engineers named Sangster and Teer came up with a deceptively simple solution: the bucket brigade delay. Moritz Klein reverse-engineered the architecture of a classic BBD, recreated a bare-bones-version on the breadboard – and then used a proper BBD chip to implement a simple audio delay effect. This journey resulted in another module in Moritz Klein Instruments and Erica Synths EDU.DIY series – BBD FX! It's beautifully simple Bucket Brigade Delay module with unique clock noise cancelling circuit and some distinct performance-oriented features. Erica Synths team agreed, that it's one of the best sounding BBDs, you can find. 10 HP width, the kit price is 70€.
This ticket reserves your workshop place. The module itself costs 70€ which has to be paid during the event.
Start of the event is 11 am on Oct 26 in Leipzig Plagwitz. We'll email you the address after your registration. We'll have all necessary tools and parts to finish the kits. The ticket fee covers our orga-costs, no refund if you cancel after 2 weeks before the event. The kits itself have to be paid cash on Oct 26. No physical tickets will be shipped. • Never connect or disconnect the module while the Eurorack system is powered on.
2. Heat Generation:
• The module may generate heat during operation. Ensure proper ventilation within your Eurorack case to prevent overheating.
3. Sharp Edges:
• The module’s faceplate and components may have sharp edges. Handle with care to avoid cuts or scratches.
4. Small Parts:
• Contains small parts that could pose a choking hazard. Keep away from children and pets.
5. Compatibility:
• This module is designed specifically for Eurorack-compatible systems. Connecting it to non-compatible systems may result in damage or malfunction.
Assembly Requirements
• Soldering skills are required to complete the module.
• Ensure a clean, well-lit and ventilated workspace free of flammable materials during assembly.
• Use appropriate tools and safety equipment, such as eye protection.
Testing
• Test the module thoroughly for shorts or incorrect assembly before powering it in your Eurorack system. When the unit has malfunctions due to incorrect assembly, the entire Eurorack system might be damaged. It's a good idea to test it in a separate case with only that single module.
• Use a multimeter or other appropriate tools to confirm proper functionality.
Installation and Use
• Mount securely in a Eurorack case using the provided screws.
• Use only the included or manufacturer-recommended power cable.
• Connect only when the power is off.
• Follow the module's user guide for instructions on operation. Donot exceed the input/output limits specified.
