Cubusynth was founded by Ruben Sponar in 2020 and is located in the south of Portugal.
We create Eurorack Modules, a modular synthesizer format.
Modular synthesizers, unlike pre-wired synthesizers, have panel-mounted audio, control, and sync jacks that allow direct connections (via patch cords) from any module to another module. The result is an endless universe of possibilities and combinations to achieve new sounds.
At CubuSynth we give you 3 ordering options, we provide modules assembled, calibrated and ready-to-use. The DIY (do it yourself) version of the modules, with all the components needed for assembly, as well as the respective instruction manual, this option is aimed at electronic soldering enthusiasts who like to get their hands dirty and see the magic of electronic connections come to life through your own hands. We also offer the possibility of purchasing the PCB and the front panel so that anyone with the necessary experience and knowledge in electronic soldering and modular synthesis can assemble our modules with the components they like best, in order to give our customers some freedom to create and customize our modules.

The CubuSynth 6xLevel module is a 8 HP passive attenuator, which allows scaling of CV and audio signals. The inputs are normalized from the outputs above, which allows passive multiplication with attenuation. The normalized path is attenuated by the potentiometer before, so you can also create very subtle changes (e.g. Fine tune a VCO). The silver lines on the front panel mark the normalisation routing.Note, that it is a passive module, for multiplying non-precise voltages. It is recommended to not use more than 3 outputs from the same input.Features:• 6 individual attenuators• flexible passive multiple (1x6, 2x3, 3x2, 1x4 + 1x2)• normalized inputs from output aboveDIY-Kit-Type:THT-Kit-1. The CubuSynth Dual CS-20 VCF is a versatile module that combines two 12db filter cores in a dual/stereo configuration. It is inspired by the iconic Korg MS-20 synthesizer, offering similar sound characteristics while the resonance can be pushed even further. The module provides multiple filter modes, including low pass and high pass, which can be blended together to create a diverse range of filter responses. This allows you to shape your audio signal in various ways, from smooth and warm low pass filtering to more aggressive high pass filtering. One of the standout features of the CS-20 VCF is its self-oscillating resonance capability. When the resonance is turned up, the filter produces a sine wave that can be used as an additional sound source. This feature adds to the versatility of the module, allowing you to create complex and evolving sounds and even cross-FM modulation possibilities. The frequency and resonance parameters can be controlled via control voltage (CV) inputs. The frequency CV input can be attenuverted, meaning it can both attenuate and invert the incoming CV signal. This gives you precise control over the modulation depth and direction for frequency modulation. The resonance CV input includes an attenuator, allowing you to adjust the modulation depth for the resonance parameter. This feature gives you the flexibility to add dynamic and expressive modulation to your sounds.Additionally, the CS-20 VCF provides a 1V/Oct input, which allows you to control the filter's frequency using a standard 1V/Oct control voltage. This input is stable over a range of at least 2 to 3 octaves, ensuring melodic tracking and integration with other modular synthesizer components.Overall, the CubuSynth Dual CS-20 VCF offers a powerful and flexible filtering solution with intuitive routing and modulation options. It is designed to inspire creativity and provide a wide range of sonic possibilities for your modular synthesizer setup.Features:• 2 individual Filter cores with common Frequency and Resonance controls• CV control over Frequency and Resonance for each Filter core• Self-oscillating Resonance with LED feedback circuit (visible on the Front)• 1 V/oct input, tracking over 2~3 octaves• Frequency Range: 22 Hz - 20 kHz• Blend between LP / HP Filter modes• Ability to use as 2 pole (12db) stereo HP/LP Filter, 4 pole (24db) mono LP/HP or a Band Pass (12db) Filter• Cross FM Modulation possibleDIY-Kit-Type:THT-Kit-1. The Exhaust adds many features to your Engine VCO module like Sub-octaves, Mixing and a Gate generated by the Chaos signal. You can select one of the two VCO cores of the engine to produce square waves one and two octaves below the oscillators frequency. You can blend between -1 and -2 octaves and set the volume they are mixed into the main “Mix” output. The knobs “VCO1” “VCO2” and “AM” set the level of the selected waveform of each VCO and the AM output from the Engine to the main mix. The “Ext In” input is normalled from the RM output, but you can plug in any other signal to go to the main mix. The V Ref sets a Voltage between 0V and +10V which compares against the chaos signal from the Engine (Chaos attenuator on the Engine doesn't matter). Whenever the chaos signal is higher in voltage than the knob setting, it will give you a gate or trigger signal depending on the switch. There is also a CV input, which offsets your V Ref and can create interesting rhythms.Features:• Two sub-ocatve generator with selection switch, mix knob for -1 and -2 octaves (/2 and /4)• 5 channel audio mixer for 4 different outputs from the Engine and the sub-octave generator• External input for mixing with other signals• Semi-random gate or trigger output generated by the chaos signal• Audio-optimized chaos output• Separate outputs for sub-octave and main mixDIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1.
